Jane manages Abels commercial operations which includes Abel’s implementation, consulting, accounting services divisions and the finance and marketing teams.

With over 30 years’ experience, she brings a range of leadership skills, strategic expertise, and industry knowledge to Abel, ensuring seamless implementation and ongoing support to help Abel’s customers achieve the best results.

Jane also oversees mergers and acquisitions, business expansion, and performance in Abel’s New Zealand, Australia, United States and other international markets.

Callum is responsible for Abel’s product design, software development, and technology strategy. With over 28 years of ERP expertise, he’s not just familiar with Abel’s architecture — he helped to shape it.

From designing core functionality to overseeing software engineering, support and technical writing teams, Callum ensures every solution is smart, scalable, and tailored to real-world business needs. His collaborative approach means customers aren’t just getting software — they’re getting a partner who listens, innovates, and delivers tools that fit their industry.

Allan Baird founded Abel Software with a clear mission — to make powerful ERP software accessible to small and mid-sized businesses. His vision was ambitious yet practical: to create a solution that was affordable, flexible, and easy to use, enabling SMEs to perform and grow without the complexity or cost of traditional ERP systems.

Backed by a team of innovative engineers and trusted consultants, that vision became Abel® — ERP software designed from the ground up for growing businesses.

Today, Allan serves in an advisory role, working alongside co-owners Jane Mattsen and Callum Baird and providing guidance to the Executive Team.

Tim manages Abels Mobile Development team, and for 18 years has been at the forefront of building the systems that power Abel’s enterprise solutions.

His expertise spans a wide range of languages.

Tim has played a key role in engineering the technical infrastructure that enables inter-database communications, forming the backbone of Abels enterprise management platform, Abel’s mobile framework along with Abels advanced reporting toolset, SQL database extracts, internal messaging, KPI dashboards, and customer exceptions portal.

Bonny is the Lead Technical Communicator at Abel Software, where she produces the technical documentation for the company’s flagship ERP software. She thrives on the intellectual challenge of understanding complex material and translating it into clear, accessible content tailored to the needs of our customers. Known for her strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and commitment to continual improvement, Bonny brings precision and clarity to every project.

Her expertise spans technical writing for user and configuration guides using MadCap Flare, proposal and scope writing for customer implementations and project proposals, website copywriting, and other business communications. Bonny also possesses in-depth ERP software knowledge and experience in functional testing, ensuring that her work supports both technical accuracy and user success.

With over 16 years at Abel Software Limited, Rik has grown from a one-person Software Support role to leading the Abel Customer Services Division. His journey reflects a deep commitment to delivering exceptional service and building strong customer relationships.

Rik has worked with Abels ERP consultants on numerous customer projects, taking him across Australasia and the USA, where he gained valuable insights into diverse business requirements. He also provides specialist knowledge in the areas of Finance Support, GST/Tax and Fixed Assets.

Rik’s hands-on experience and ensures that Abel customers receive reliable, consistent, responsive assistance every step of the way.

As Principal ERP Consultant and Head of Sales, Clint is responsible for growing Abel’s customer base world-wide.

Clint also provides guidance on new product features for Abel and assists Abel’s team of ERP Consultants to ensure that the most suitable Abel configurations(s) are delivered and best practice is maintained.

An Accountant by qualification (ACA) Clint has over 25 years of experience in implementing ERP solutions, and has a deep knowledge of advanced functional and technical aspects of ERP systems.

A strategic thinker who has a strong focus on delivering organizational change and efficiencies within challenging environments.

David leads Abel Software’s Consultancy Services team, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional customer experiences. His role spans managing the ERP consulting team, coordinating workflows, and fostering strong client relationships. With a focus on business process reviews and continuous improvement, David combines strategic thinking with hands-on leadership to drive growth and efficiency.
